The SBI served notification of suspicion to two deputies of the so-called «police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic», as well one of the traitors even became a «general»

The employees of the SBI, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, have served notifications of suspicion in absentia to two former Ukrainian law enforcement officers, who had joined the occupation «authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic». They hold the positions of «deputy heads of the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic» and actively support russian policy on the temporarily occupied territories.

One of the suspects resigned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in 2013 with the rank of colonel and returned to Donetsk. There, he joined the «Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic» and in 2023 was promoted to the rank of «Major General of Police» and became «Deputy Chief of Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic for operational activities”. The occupiers rewarded him with the «Order for Courage» for his service.

The second former law enforcement officer was dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in 2014 for disciplinary violations. He also stayed on the temporarily occupied Donetsk, where he joined the so-called «Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic». There, he also held the position of «Deputy Chief of Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic».

Both of them are actively involved in the propaganda activities of the occupiers, support the policy of the russian federation and work for the russian regime.

They are suspected of collaboration (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and one of the defendants is also charged with high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the articles provides for imprisonment for up to 15 years.
