SBI notifies 9 traitors from Crimea, who are now fighting against Ukraine, of suspicion

SBI employees indicted in absentia 9 ex-soldiers of the Crimean Air Force tactical group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the occupation of the peninsula in 2014, they betrayed the oath, defected to the enemy and continued to serve in the armed forces of russia.

All traitors held senior officer positions. In particular, these are the former:

  • three deputy commanders of the radio technical battery of the anti-aircraft missile division (S-300PS);
  • chief of Service of the combat control section of the radio technical battery of the anti-aircraft missile division (S-300PS);
  • head of the missile and artillery armament service of the technical unit of the military unit;
  • head of the personnel and drill department - deputy chief of staff;
  • head of physical training and sports;
  • deputy division commander for armaments - commander of the radio technical battery of the anti-aircraft missile division (S-300PS);
  • deputy head of the command post for armament of the military unit.

Three of the suspects remained in Crimea to perform combat missions under the russian flag.

In addition, one of the traitors is possibly involved in the escalation of the conflict in Syria as part of the russian military forces.

All nine people are suspected of desertion and high treason (part 1 of Article 408 and part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The article provides for a sentence of up to 15 years' imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Procedural supervision is provided by the Vinnytsia Specialised Defence Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.

The State Bureau of Investigation reminds that crimes against the foundations of national security have no statute of limitations. The SBI continues to expose war criminals who betrayed the people of Ukraine and are fighting on the side of the enemy.
