The SBI notified the deputy minister of the "DPR" and four other collaborators about the suspicion

The SBI officers notified nine law enforcers in the Donetsk region of suspicion of collaborative activities, who, after the full-scale invasion of Russia, had broken their oath and defected to the enemy's side.

In exchange for their betrayal, the occupants offered them "extraordinary" careers at the so-called Ministry of Internal Affairs of the terrorist organization Donetsk People's Republic. In particular, one of them became deputy minister and another became "rector of the Academy named after Dzerzhinsky" (Donetsk Institute of Internal Affairs before the occupation). Other law enforcers voluntarily took more modest positions in the terrorist organization.

All of them took part in briefings for local mass media, where they publicly expressed their support for the aggressor government and the actions of its armed forces, belittling the dignity of the Ukrainian armed forces and the Ukrainian authorities.

Law enforcement officers are suspected of voluntary employment in illegal law enforcement bodies established on the temporarily occupied territory (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

This article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.

The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the proceedings.
