The SBI suspects deputy head of the Federation of Trade Unions of illegal alienation of property worth over UAH 138 million
The SBI employees served a notice of suspicion to the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FTU). According to the investigation, he was personally involved in the illegal alienation of property worth over UAH 138 million.
It was documented in collaboration with the Ukrainian Security Service that in 2019, the deputy head of the FTU, along with other state officials, made a decision on the illegal alienation of the building of the state resort balneological hospital in Kyiv for the benefit of a private enterprise. According to the conclusion of the judicial evaluation and construction expertise, the total cost of the premises was UAH 138 million 308 thousand. The hospital, which had no right to be alienated in the first place, was sold at a much lower price.
The official was served a notice of suspicion of embezzlement of property, abuse of office by a public official, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, on a large scale (Part 5 Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court imposed on the official a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention with an alternative in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 124 million, and also suspended him from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine for a period of 2 months.

It should be reminded that earlier the State Bureau of Investigations notified four former Kyiv officials of suspicion in the case of illegal transfer of property to trade unions. As part of the investigation of criminal proceedings on illegal alienation of property, more than 440 objects used by trade unions were transferred to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency.
