The SBI suspects the deputy of the Kherson Region Council of collaborationism and working for the occupiers

The deputy of the Kherson Region Council has been notified of suspicion of high treason (in absentia). The traitor voluntarily took the position of "Chief Region Customs Officer" of the occupation authorities.

The SBI officers revealed that he not only defected to the occupier but also agitated staff of the Kherson customs of the State Customs Service of Ukraine to betray Ukraine and start operating the customs under the russian federation's occupation authorities. This crime is classified as an especially grave one.

After russia's temporary occupation of Kherson, the collaborator began actively collaborating with the aggressors. On his own initiative, he took up the post of chairman of the so-called "Kherson customs". The traitor personally agitated the current employees of the Kherson customs of the State Customs Service of Ukraine who stayed in the city and region. On the instructions of his curators, he "ordered" the continuation of customs clearance of goods under his leadership in an illegal organization under the occupation authorities of the russian federation.

The deputy of the Kherson Region Council is currently suspected of voluntarily occupying a post at illegal law enforcement agencies established in the temporarily occupied territory (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The article provides imprisonment for a term of 15 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of 15 years with confiscation of property.

Pre-trial investigation is underway.

Procedural guidance in the criminal proceeding is carried out by the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office.
