The effective management of seized assets and the preservation of evidence in criminal proceedings is one of the areas of focus for the State Bureau of Investigation.

At the request of the investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation, the court transferred to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) the funds seized during the investigation into the case of illicit enrichment involving the head of one of the departments of the State Environmental Inspection of the Dnipro Region.

It comes to the amount of USD 880,000 and EUR 201,500, which, at the current exchange rate, amounts to over UAH 48 million. Law enforcement officials seized this money during a search of the official’s residence.

It should be reminded that, in November 2025 the employees of the SBI in cooperation with the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine uncovered her involvement in illicit enrichment and served notification of suspicion.

The investigation also revealed that a private entrepreneur attempted to help the suspect to evade liability by claiming that the seized money allegedly belonged to him. The investigation determined that this testimony was false, after which the man was served notification of suspicion for misleading the court.

The procedural guidance is provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
