The SBI is actively involved in repelling the aggression of the russian federation – Oleksii Sukhachov

The State Bureau of Investigation, together with the military and law enforcement officers, is actively involved in repelling the aggression of the russian federation.

Oleksii Sukhachov made this statement during a meeting with Ambassador Henrik Villadsen, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine.

According to him, nowadays, the main focus of the SBI is to detect, solve and investigate such criminal offences as high treason, collaboration, sabotage, and criminal proceedings for unleashing and waging aggressive war, and violation of the laws and customs of war.

The SBI employees are also actively engaged in the work of the interagency investigative group, which investigates crimes against peace, human security and international legal order committed on the territory of the Kyiv and Sumy regions.

Oleksii Sukhachov noted that, despite the challenges, the SBI continues to fight organized crime and corruption and other criminal offences committed by high-ranking officials, law enforcement officers, and military personnel.

The SBI Director expressed gratitude to Henrik Villadsen for support and stressed that cooperation with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine plays a significant role in the development of the Bureau.

In turn, Henrik Villadsen noted the high level of cooperation between the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and the SBI. He announced extending the Mission's mandate on the territory of Ukraine.

The OSCE Project Co-ordinator informed about the creation of a project to assist the state bodies of Ukraine in resolving humanitarian issues in connection with russian aggression.

Oleksii Sukhachov expressed the SBI's interest in this project.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop and deepen cooperation in developing the capacities of the SBI in the field of combating crime and corruption.
