14 years in prison will spend collaborator who helped invaders to create "prison" in Kherson
Based on the materials of the SBI, the Kherson City Court found the former deputy head of the department of the state institution "Northern Correctional Colony No. 90" guilty of collaborationism.
After the temporary occupation of Kherson, the man voluntarily went over to the enemy's side. Together with the occupiers he created a fake penitentiary institution that operated under the laws of the russian federation. The defendant held a managerial position in the institution, received a salary in rubles, had permission to go through checkpoints of the invaders, and had the right to carry firearms.
In addition, he publicly swore an oath of allegiance to the russian federation and received a russian passport.
After the liberation of Kherson, the traitor didn’t have time to escape and hid in the city. He was detained by a team of operatives of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine.
The court found him guilty under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activities) and sentenced him to 14 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold positions in law enforcement agencies for 14 years and confiscation of all property.
In addition, he was deprived of his special rank by the court decision - lieutenant colonel of the internal service.
The Procedural guidance is provided by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
