UAH 12 million from the criminal case involving fraudulent medical certificates of the Military Medical Commission have been transferred to ARMA—the funds will be used for the state defense

Combating crimes related to mobilization is one of the priorities of the State Bureau of Investigation.

At the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, the court transferred to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency the funds seized during the investigation into the forgery of documents for conscripted in Zakarpattia.

It comes to nearly UAH 12 million in various currencies, which were seized during searches of the suspect's premises.

These funds, obtained through the illegal granting of payment deferrals, will be allocated after all necessary procedures to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine or to address other critical wartime priorities.

As a reminder, in April, the employees of the SBI, in cooperation with the National Police of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, detained the head of the military medical commission at the Berehove Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support.

According to the investigation, he extorted money in exchange for issuing fake medical documents to secure a deferment from mobilization.

Specifically, he offered to process the documents for one of the conscripts without a medical examination and arranged with other members of the Military Medical Commission to disregard the conscript’s actual health condition.

The price of the «service» was USD 6,000.

The official was detained after the report was filed.

He was served notification of suspicious under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—receiving an unlawful benefit, committed by a group of persons acting in concert and involving extortion.

The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

A pre-trial investigation is currently underway. The suspect has been suspended from duty and taken into custody.
