Oleksii SUKHACHOV  

Mr. Sukhachov was born in 1978 in Kharkiv City.

Mr. Sukhachov earned his degree in law from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University in 2000.

Mr. Sukhachov is Doctor of Law, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis on the specialty: "Criminal Procedure and Forensics; Forensic Examination; Operative and Search Activities".

He was also awarded the title of “Honored Lawyer of Ukraine”.

In 2000, Mr. Sukhachov began his military service in the state security agencies, and he rose from investigator, operative to Deputy Head of the Main Department at the Central Office of the Security Service of Ukraine.

From 2017 to 2019, he served as Deputy Head of the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.

From 2019 to 2020, Mr. Sukhachov served within the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

Based on results of an open competitive selection, he was appointed as Deputy Director of the State Bureau of Investigation in August 2020.

In December 2021, Mr. Sukhachov won an open competitive selection and was appointed as Director of the State Bureau of Investigation with five-year term of tenure by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 691/2021.
